nervous patients - sedation
At Titchfield Park Dental Clinic we fully understand that many people are frightened of visiting the dentist. Even picking up the phone and making the appointment is often a struggle. We can assure you that our team are extremely sympathetic and will spend as much time as is necessary to ensure your treatment is gentle and pain free. We strive to offer a calm environment at all times.
We offer conscious sedation to patients who are reluctant to have their treatment under local anaesthetic. Sedation at Titchfield Park Dental Clinic is administered and monitored by a consultant anaesthetist. During sedation you are able to communicate with our team at anytime.
Afterwards most patients will remember nothing of the procedure and leave the surgery accompanied within one hour.
Your First Appointment and Examinations
You will be greeted by one of our friendly receptionists when you first arrive at the practice. There is a medical history form to complete which will be included in your welcome pack or you can download it from this web page (.DOC or .PDF). If you wish we can fill it in with you.
A dental nurse will greet you in the waiting room and invite you to the surgery. Your dentist will introduce himself and invite you to discuss your dental needs and desired outcome.
Following your dental examination, which may include x-rays, we will discuss a bespoke treatment plan tailored to your individual requirements. We will explain all the options and costs so that you are fully informed and involve you in the decisions as to how to proceed.
When you are happy with the proposed treatment you will be provided with a copy of your treatment plan and estimate.
One of the major causes of tooth loss in adults is gum disease. Effective oral hygiene is vital in order to help keep your teeth and gums in optimum condition. Scaling and polishing will remove stains and deposits helping to keep your smile whiter and healthier. We will also show you correct brushing and flossing techniques for effective home care, reducing the need for future treatment.

Root Canal Treatment
Root Canal Treatment is required when the nerve and blood supply to the tooth is damaged. Left untreated the tooth could develop an abscess. Root Canal Treatment is a way of saving the teeth which otherwise may have to be removed. The aim of the root canal treatment is to detoxify and preserve the root canal.
A smile makeover can transform your smile in as little as three weeks. Initially at your comprehensive smile assessment, we discuss with you how best to achieve the smile you have always wanted.
As an individual your smile is designed to suit you and your features. This is achieved by assessing several factors including age, gender, face shape, tooth colour and tooth size.
Many of our patients experience a great increase in their self esteem and confidence after treatment.
Anyone missing one or more teeth understands how tooth loss can make you feel uncomfortable about smiling, talking or eating in public. You may avoid social situations and as a result begin to feel isolated. This could negatively impact on your daily life.
Dental Implants are the latest standard of care to permanently replace from a single missing tooth to an entire set of teeth. They restore your appearance, speech, nutrition, oral health, comfort and self esteem.
Dental Implants bond with healthy bone and provide permanent support for crowns, bridges and dentures. They look and feel like natural teeth and can last a lifetime.
If your front teeth are discoloured, chipped or crooked, veneers will transform your smile with minimum tooth adjustment.
They are thin porcelain custom crafted facings that improve the colour, shape and position of your teeth for years to come.
A crown is a custom made restoration that is cemented over the remaining part of a prepared tooth. They are ideal to restore broken, decayed or heavily filled teeth, making it strong and giving it a natural appearance. They can be made of porcelain, metal or a combination of these materials.
Bridges are used to span or bridge a gap between healthy teeth. The same as with crowns teeth on either side of the space are shaped and reduced in size. The two shaped teeth then act as anchors for the replacement tooth. Bridges can be made of porcelain, metal or a combination of these materials.
Small changes to your teeth can have a huge impact on your smile. Small chips and marks are easily remedied with white filling material. This comes in many different shades and is matched and moulded to your tooth.
More and more people are concerned about the appearance, and the potential risk of silver coloured fillings that contain mercury. White fillings are a combination of resin and small glass particles that are used to replace tooth decay or old silver coloured fillings.
At Titchfield Park Dental Clinic we have the experience and expertise required to create natural looking white fillings that will last for many years.
Are you completely happy with your smile?
If you are looking for a conservative solution to straighten your teeth that will have minimal impact on your everyday life, then clear positioners at Titchfield Park Dental Clinic is your answer.

By working closely with our patients and skilled technicians, we can create comfortable and realistic smiles to convince even the most discerning onlooker that they are viewing natural teeth and gums. Dentures can also be retained by dental implants to give maximum chewing efficiency and security.

These crowns, which are milled on our cerec machine, are all ceramic with no metal cores making them more aesthetically pleasing. The cerec machine can also be used for a number of treatments in dentistry; such as implantology and orthodontics.
CBCT Scan (Cone Beam CT Scan)
At Titchfield Dental Clinic we can now offer our patients a CBCT Scan (Cone Beam CT Scan) if required. CBCT is an x-ray based imaging technique that provides fast and accurate imaging of bony anatomical structures in three dimensions. The CBCT scan produces higher resolution images with less scatter; making it the first choice for the imaging of hard tissues. It offers high resolution images of the skull down to single tooth scan details, with a reduced radiation dose at high speed.
