Anita qualified from the University of Sheffield in 1995 and has worked in general practice and community dental services since then. Anita has been treating patients using sedation techniques for over 25 years.

She holds a Diploma in Sedation after training at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ London and the Diploma of Membership of the joint dental facilities at the Royal College of Surgeons.

Anita is committed to postgraduate education and regularly updates her clinical skills by attending post graduate courses across the country.

Her main aim is to provide excellent quality dentistry with a relaxed and friendly approach to treatment. Anita has a long history of experience in treating patients with dental anxiety and is committed to ensuring she has good communication skills in order to provide patients with a good knowledge and understanding of their treatment options.

Referral Guide

Please could the referring dentist provide a comprehensive medical history, only ASA I and ASA II cases can be accepted for treatment.

Patients will require an initial assessment prior to any treatment to determine their suitability for treatment under IV sedation. This will include airway assessment, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and BMI. Written pre-operative and post operative instructions for sedation will be provided.

Please could the referring dentist provide a comprehensive treatment plan which should include;

  • Preferred materials for any restorations to be completed.
  • Surfaces of the teeth to be restored.
  • An indication of any discussions regarding post operative risks or complications and alternative treatment options.
  • Please attach relevant radiographs and/or photographs.

Post-Operative Management protocol

Detailed information would be given to all patients at the assessment and will include an estimate of costs for the sedation and treatment proposed. As you will be aware restorative treatment under IV sedation can be more challenging due to patient cooperation. We will endeavour to complete the proposed treatment however it may not always be possible. Please ensure the referring dentist has discussed possible post operative complications and alternative treatment options prior to referral -Following treatment the patient will be discharged back to the referring dentist. -We would ask for cooperation from referring colleagues to manage routine post-operative issues such as minor occlusal adjustments, smoothing of fillings, or immediate post-operative symptoms. -Should restorative treatment fail, patients will also be made aware at the assessment appointment, that further treatment would incur further fees, particularly if additional sedation sessions are required.
