We typically use two zygomatic implants in addition to 2-4 traditional implants. If bone availability is particularly limited, we may use four zygomatic implants.

Before implant surgery begins, you’ll require a scan to assess how much bone is available in your upper jaw. We will use our CT scanner to create a three-dimensional analysis of your mouth, bone density, gum and nerve health.  This will allow us to plan your zygomatic implant treatment and ensure the ideal placement of dental implants to ensure they recover well and stay in place. We also then take photos and plaster models, to find the ideal length and placement of the implants.

As the operation is more complicated than traditional implants, the operation is undertaken under general anaesthetic. After the surgery a temporary replacement will be fitted immediately, and our dental technician will construct a permanent restoration.
